
Sharing Good Practice in MSOR Teaching and Learning
The CETL-MSOR Conference 2012 is being held in partnership with the Higher Education Academy and will take place in the Halifax Conference Facility, Endcliffe Village, University of Sheffield on Thursday 12 to Friday 13 July 2012.
The aim of this conference is to promote, explore and disseminate emerging good practice and research findings in Mathematics and Statistics support, teaching, learning and assessment. In particular it will provide an opportunity to share experiences from the wide variety of activities supported by the National HE STEM Programme through the Mathematical Science HE Curriculum programme and sigma. The conference will appeal to all those teaching Mathematics, Statistics or Numeracy, whether this is to specialist mathematics students or students studying components of mathematics within their degree programmes (such as bioscience, chemistry, computer science, economics, engineering, nursing, physics, psychology, social work, etc).

Conference Fees:
Early Bird Rate £130.00 - must be booked by 14th May 2012
Full Conference Rate £145.00
Student Rate £80.00. Please note that all students will be asked for appropriate identification when registering at the conference.
These rates includes B&B accommodation in Endcliffe Village Student Accomodation on the evening of Thursday 12th July, conference dinner at the Edge on Thursday 12th July and lunch on both days.
Additional accomodation is available on Wednesday 11th July at a cost of £36.00
The day delegate rate is £35.00 per day.

Ideas Exchange 14-15 July 2012
Do you have an idea to improve your teaching? Something you fancy trying but haven't been able to, or something you use that you'd like to share with others?
The Mathematical Sciences Strand of the National HE STEM Programme is offering a free residential weekend to follow the CETL-MSOR Conference to meet, share ideas and to form collaborations. This isn’t about conference talks or parallel sessions. It isn’t about fully formed ideas or sharing evaluated good practice. It is about meeting other enthusiastic people to share and think through new ideas.
The meeting at Sheffield University will start with lunch at 12noon on Saturday 14th July and finish with lunch at 1pm on Sunday 15th July. This is intended to allow plenty of time for travel. Free accommodation on Friday 13th July is available for anyone who is also attending the CETL-MSOR Conference. For more information click here
